Agree completely that the clarity of message is the only thing that really matters, and sometimes you need to use something unexpected (EG, personal voice, off-color humor, or even something startling) to keep a reader's interest. We are fickle readers, we humans.
And I think the trend will carry on, possibly even accelerate, in this direction as personal, human, interesting writing becomes more appreciated as we’re flooded with bland, AI-generated texts
I think good human writing will stand out for a while to come, but writers need to be nimble, lest our tricks become replicated, and our stuff start to sound like everyone else.
That’s why I think innovative writing is more important than ever. AI can copy styles, but if you’re always innovating, you’re always a step or three ahead!
